A Note on This Beer
Today’s Barrel-Aged Stout is based on George Washington’s personal rye whiskey recipe.
Ol’ Georgy knew how to get the party started and Four Fathers Brewing carries forth his legacy with today’s Barrel-Aged Wheelhouse Imperial Coffee Stout.
After aging for 4 months in Mr. Washington’s approved Journeyman Not A King barrels, each sip of this 10% ABV treat has us donning our best tricorn hats and spouting off our own version of the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident,
That all beer IS NOT created equal.
That some craft beers (like today’s) are endowed with certain unalienable Rights (and 4.42 BA scores),
That among its merits are Booziness, Mocha Decadence, and the pursuit of Rye Whiskey depth!
This robust, Irish Coffee-like decadence will have you feelin’ a wee bit silly too — polish off the bottle and George himself will appear like an apparition to drink by your side! It happened to us just the other day at Tavour!
The award-winning brewers at Four Fathers drench this dark chocolate and coffee base in fruity rye whiskey to create magical complexity. Sip after sip drifts you away on a smooth river of cherry cordial chocolate with bits of espresso beans.
Adding this years’ BA Wheelhouse 2018 vintage to your stash is a staggering achievement for even the most brag-worthy collection. George Washington would certainly approve of your excellent taste.
