A Note on This Beer
Fort George’s annual 3-WAY IPA limited release has become the hoppy collaboration that defines the Pacific Northwest beer scene. Each edition features the legendary lupulin prowess of Fort George coupled with two of the biggest movers and shakers in the NW’s confederation of hop-focused brewers.
2016’s edition brings in the highest Untappd ratings yet- a huge 4.27. To make it, Fort George unites with the masterminds behind many top rated IPAs - Barley Brown’s and Melvins. Melvins is a new Washington transplant and the master behind the legendary 2x4 DIPA.. Barley Browns is the much heralded IPA master that sells out so quickly on tap, they don’t even bottle their beers. Together they unleash cutting edge techniques to blast you with unbeatably dank and herbal hops.
A comprehensive swoop of hop aroma heralds its arrival - dank pine resins fuse with dill over jammy guavas. A malt bill designed to “maximize hop expression” frames these spicy fruity hops with clarian crispness. A lower mash temp minimizes residual sugar. Co2 injection in the dry hopping process releases every last drop of dankness from bombastically tropical mango-like Galaxy, Citra, and Mosaic Hops.
As a compilation of the greatest hop minds in the Pacific NW, 3-Way is destined for local glory. Is this the best 3-Way yet? Try it fresh now and let us know!
