A Note on This Beer
On my fourth birthday, I celebrated by eating my favorite thing — red crayons. Now, New York’s award-winning juicebomb regents at Kings County Brewers Collective are celebrating their own fourth lap around the sun in an infinitely more delicious way...
...With a hugely juicy, hazy-as-all-get-out, 8% ABV Imperial IPA!
The brewers say 4th Orbit is “absolutely clobbered” with Citra, Galaxy, Nelson, and Mosaic Hops, and I believe it. Every sip positively drips with juice! OJ and mango wash in right upfront, swiftly followed by Nelson’s unique lychee and white grape flavors. Notes of dank tangerine come in on the finish to top it off.
Yum! Suffice to say, this lush sipper beats a whole lot more than just crayons.
Of course, I gotta admit that KCBC has considerably more to celebrate on their fourth birthday than I did. In just a few short years, they’ve snagged a stockpile of New York State Craft Beer Competition medals and a coveted spot as one of Thrillist’s Best Breweries in NYC.
To top it all off, they were the first brick-and-mortar brewery to open in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood in more than 40 years! These guys paved the way for other breweries to open, totally reviving the area’s former reputation as a thriving beer hub!
So, happy 4th Orbit, KCBC. And thanks for today’s taste of your brewing mastery.
