About This Beer
To craft this 6th anniversary celebration, the brewers hand selected rye barrels that previously held one of their biggest, most cocoa-y Stouts to date. They aged the brew for two full years in the barrels before resting the brew on Sugar Maple. This sweet wood introduces vanilla and pecan notes so vivid, you’d think the NI crew used adjuncts –– but it’s all from the wood!
Tasting Notes
Velvety currents of dark cocoa, whiskey caramel, and crème brûlée surge through every sip. A bit of char and rye spice rises on the end, all hiding an enormous 17% ABV.

The tape between the bottle and wax is the cherry on top. Extremely subtle for 17%; tastes like 11% until it hits the stomach lining. It tastes rye barrel aged, kinda dry (which I love), Oakey, thick, roasty, smooth, dark, balanced, & strong. Best of all.... It's not ruined with coffee! I only wish this was much cheaper so I would've bought more.
-just realized these are the same guys who make the Noema's. I will purchase everything dark from them!

This was good. A touch sweet, but the barrel aged flavors helped to curb it.
