About This Beer
This absolute bucket list beer is one of the most sought-after brews from Anchorage, whose world-famous dark beers disappear almost as soon as they appear.
To craft it, the Alaskan legends aged their world-class Barleywine in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels for seven months before transferring it to freshly emptied Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels for another nine months.
Tasting Notes
Cascades of caramel coated dates, golden toffee, brown sugar, and rich whiskey vanilla course through every quaff. Whispers of oaky spice carry on the end of every chewy mouthful, all hiding an enormous 17% ABV!

I knew this was a super exclusive beer but I couldn't wait. This is a delicious fruity barrel aged barleywine. I was afraid it was overhyped but it was definitely worth the price tag.

Burley that seems to have matured in the barrel of Woodford Reserve DO. The 17% frequency disappears somewhere, and it has a strong sweetness, charred grains, and a condensed fruitiness derived from barrels. It has a rich taste ... but it is also drinkable, and the bottle melts in seconds.

Anchorage Brewing is one of the best and everything I have tasted is wonderful. thick ~ dark ~ boozey ~ will buy again if possible

Heavy out of the gate, but it quickly fades into a really smooth Carmel, bourbon flavor, with a delicious chocolate aftertaste. I can’t believe that it justifies the crazy price tag, but it totally does. Phenomenal.

Spectacular beer that is already improving with age.

It is very thick in texture, and has a very strong date and caramel flavor. I don't understand when people say: "It has, coconut, and leather notes." It does have a very strong, chocolate taste from the bourbon barrels, but the 17% a.b.v overpowers.
