About This Beer
For Batch #2, the Alaskan legends aged their beloved Barleywine base for 44 months, starting with a stint in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Then they transferred it to Calumet Farm 15-year bourbon casks before they let it rest in Heaven Hill 15-year malt whiskey barrels. From there, the brewers moved it to a cask of The Bee’s Knees bourbon from Shortbarrel and finally to an Anchorage Brewing/Denali Spirits whiskey barrel.
Tasting Notes
All that time in oak should result in a sensational sipper with unparalleled, spirit-soaked depth! Look for sumptuous toffee and crème brûlée tones tumbling into nuances of chocolate covered raisins and dried fig. Swaths of woody vanilla should bind it all together, further obscuring the enormous 25.6% ABV.
