About This Beer
To celebrate a decade of brewing some of the best craft around, Fonta Flora created the ultimate Appalachian Wild Ale — with yeast cultures from their pals at TEN different breweries!
And if you’re into Farmhouse styles, you might recognize a few of their names: Jester King, Casey, Crooked Stave, De Garde, Embrace the Funk, TRVE, Arizona Wilderness, Scratch, Sante Adairius, and Oxbow.
The FF crew began with local barley and wheat boiled with aged hops. They fermented it in an American oak foeder with the 11-way culture, then matured it in oak barrels for several months.
But they didn’t stop there! They refermented the brew with locally grown peaches before a stint in wine barrels. Then, just before bottle conditioning, they mixed in their last few barrels of Black Raspberry Gose to amp up the lush nuances of late summer bounty.
Tasting Notes
Each delightfully sour pour bursts with jammy aromas and farmyard funk. Tangy stone fruit and bramble berries mingle with bready malts, hints of horse blanket, and subtle tobacco tones, all leading up to a bone dry finish.
