A Note on This Beer
Even though Thrillist called out Central State Brewing as one of the Best Breweries in Indianapolis, I still wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of these guys. Unlike their IN counterparts at 3 Floyds, you won’t find Central State’s brews anywhere outside Hoosier territory.
But in the nearly 5 years since opening their doors, these guys have made a name for themselves with their complex, big-flavored brews, even earning 3 medals at the Indiana Brewers Cup.
Which is why I jumped at the chance to share their brand-spankin’ new Alastor Imperial Milk Stout with you all! Supercharged with a 10% ABV and sipping like a sweet cafe con leche, today’s beer is a decadent, boozy introduction to this under-the-radar brewery that’s shaking up the Midwest.
Make sure you grab a couple extra cans to get your buddies in on the action, too. Give ‘em a taste and watch the looks on their faces when they ask, “How the heck have I never heard of these guys?!”
Alastor pours motor oil thick and brims with rich notes of freshly brewed coffee. Take a sip and layers of chocolate ganache and sweet cream crash onto the palate, giving way to hints of chewy molasses and toffee. Notes of darkly roasted espresso beans disguise the big ABV, and a final touch of vanilla mellows out the finish.
Is your mouth watering yet? Then call up your buddies and book your next vacation in Indiana....
Or save your precious beer bucks and snag couple cans of Alastor from our stash and indulge yourselves in this boozy, espresso-soaked Stout from Indiana’s up-and-coming flavor masters.
Alastor was just released on 3/29/19 and is too new for ratings.
