A Note on This Beer
I hope you’ve sharpened your No. 2 pencils, ‘cause it’s time for a POP QUIZ!
- Which brewery was named USA Today’s Best New Brewery of 2019?
- Which beer of theirs is currently the number one rated in their famous IPA series?
- What new and rarely-seen hop variety does this beer showcase?
If you answered Wild Leap Brewing Co., Alpha Abstraction Vol. 14, and Talus Hops — congratulations!
And, if you didn’t know the answers, no sweat! Time to crack open a can of today’s 4.3 UT-rated Hazy IPA and start “studying.”
Alpha Abstraction Vol. 14 is an ultra-smooth and juicy blend of tropical flavors, thanks to a healthy double dry-hopping with Talus Hops (a.k.a. the artist formerly known as Experimental Hop HBC 692).
Talus delivers pungent and aromatic scents of sweet, dried roses and invigorating pine. The taste is a tropical fruit salad of zesty grapefruit, succulent pineapples, and juicy passionfruit, all wrapped up in a smooth and velvety body.
Since the beginning, each version of Wild Leap’s Alpha Abstraction has been a daringly delicious experiment in hops. For extra credit, how high did Tavour students rate the last 7 iterations of this series? (I’ll give you a hint: it starts with the number “4.”)
Each limited release of Alpha Abstraction only drops once, so if you want the brew that scores an A+ in the “big, tropical, and juicy” category, it’s time to put down your pencils and pick up your pint glasses!
