About This Beer
When the folks at New Image called blend #6 of Anaphora “the most distinctive barrel-aged stout that [they] have ever tasted,” we knew we had to get our hands on some.
When we found out it was blended from two different beers, each aged in a different rum barrel for a whopping 33 months? We scooped up as much as we could!
Tasting Notes
The brewers describe this beer as “notes of oak, blackstrap molasses, sweet and fruity spirit with hints of dark fruit and caramel,” and “rich and velvety, cask forward and easy to sip.”

semi-sweet with nice rum heat finish. Another great New Image release

aging this beer so long in rum barrels definitely adds a unique twist to the barrel aged norm. you get a really thick, heavy sweetness but not in a normal way. hard to explain. interesting to try but a full bottle is a lot to handle

Impossibly thick. Rum scent, very little rum heat. A tiny bit of roast and chocolate, big time dark fruit. Hard to get through.
