About This Beer
To honor the brewery's 34th birthday, Deschutes paid tribute to their beloved Black Butte Porter with a little inspiration from a classic Italian dessert — tiramisu.
The crew crafted Anniversary Black Butte XXXIV with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and milk sugar and aged it in bourbon barrels for a full-bodied Imperial Porter that invites you to cheer “cin-cin!”
Tasting Notes
Each taste unfolds in layers, echoing the flavors of the decadent cake. Sweet mocha leads the nose, accented by a certain tobacco-like savor. Then, the brew’s roasty malts combine with notes of baking cocoa and coffee for a dark, mildly bitter sip, graced by a hint of char.
Vanilla, oak, and a silky mouthfeel soften each swig, while a bit of boozy spice rounds out the tiramisu impression.
