A Note on This Beer
With this adaptation of the revered Altbier style, popularized in Germany, today’s beer really comes out “on top!!
If you’re looking for a classic craft brew that doesn't knock you out with one sip, you’ve arrived.
The Altbier is one of the oldest styles in Germany’s long storied history of beer making. Using top-fermenting yeasts is something commonly seen in ales, and this style starts by deploying them; but, the brewers then allow the beer to ferment and mature in a cooler atmosphere (more like a Lager). The result: Rheinland’s classic style of malty brew goodness!
Today, the Iowa brew crew at Lua has crafted something true to this stylish tradition. It comes with an approachable nose and an easy sipping taste that’s oh-so-crushable!
They used Munich malts and a small addition of Caramunich, giving today’s Anodyne Altbier a harmonious balance of malty character, touches of bitterness, and warm toasted bread crumb flavors. This flavorful brew will bring smiles at the dinner table or in the bier hall. Cheers and chug with dein bester freund!
From Dusseldorf to Des Moines to your doorstep, we suggest you grab a pint (or a boot!) and get your hands on this historic style while you still can! Prost!
