A Note on This Beer

The Bruery’s motto is “like nothing you’ve ever tasted before.”

We taste a lot of amazing beers here at Tavour, but I have to say — I’ve yet to try a brew quite like this.

Apfelsap (2020) is a decadent, barrel-aged Wheatwine — the type of celebratory brew you save for a special occasion. The brewers fermented it with tart, juicy McIntosh apples while simultaneously aging it in Copper & Kings Apple Brandy barrels. After a year of resting in barrels, this elegant sipper overflows with irresistible flavor.

It pours a mysterious shade of amber, with plenty of creamy foam. Pungent aromas of bright, crisp apples, juicy pears, velvety caramel, and brown sugar greet the nose, followed by a whisper of black pepper.

As you sip, its full, lush body envelops your tongue in sweet honey and boozy apple brandy, before melting into oaky vanilla, spicy cinnamon, and freshly cut grass.

With so much mind-bending flavor and an earth-shattering 16.9% ABV, this sipper is perfect for sharing. Invite your most discerning connoisseur buddies over for a bottle share and watch their eyes widen as they sample Apfelsap’s pure delectability.

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. The Bruery is certified independent by the Brewers Association

lots of apple sweetness with boozy heat. Excellent for an after dinner drink, and the sweetness isn’t really that overwhelming. The alcohol warmth balances this our very nicely.

definitely tastes like a hard cider, although it’s huge (it’s basically a wine bottle) and high percentage. would be a good drink to drink by the fire. Definitely not a bottle that’s smart to drink only yourself 😅

This gave me a crazy buzz, and felt like an army of slightly rotten apples were shooting me in the face with a machine gun. 5 star buzz, but not so much on the flavor. Woke up with the absolute worst hangover on planet earth.

Apple sweetness with a warming alcohol finish. Wheatwine offers a lighter body, sort of a barleywine light.

Not as sweet as one would expect, but similar to a richly spiced applesauce swimming in booze. I'm glad I got 2 bottles because its an experience you have to revisit.
