A Note on This Beer
In a world where life is pandemonium and social media sites watch our every move, Drekker offers a bold, bourbon-laced refuge in the midst of the chaos.
It’s called Approaching Entropy: 001 — a name that refers to “a lack of order or predictability” or a “gradual decline into disorder.” Maybe it conjures up images of a dark, crime ridden metropolis, like Gotham or Sin City. Or, maybe it’s just how you’d describe 2020. Either way, this gem of a brew is sure to provide sweet, roasty relief.
To craft this Imperial Milk Stout, the brewers dove deep inside their cellar, tasted every Stout they had in oak, then combined their 20 favorite barrels into one incredible blend. The resulting brew is sumptuous and complex, with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, bing cherries, vanilla bean, and brûléed sugar.
Inviting aromatics of rich chocolate and vanilla greet the nose, followed by the taste of chocolate dipped espresso beans. Waves of caramelly bourbon rise to the forefront as you sip, along with a whisper of juicy bing cherries. Meanwhile, ribbons of milk sugar add creaminess to the mouthfeel.
Early tasters are loving this remarkable treat:
