About This Beer

John Glenn, the first American to eat in space, sucked food paste from tubes. That wasn’t very fun or flavorful, so NASA began freeze-drying tastier things for future missions — thus, astronaut food!

This crazy stuffed 8 oz. can is the mega-concentrated stash of Urban Artifact’s freeze dried and boozy take on John Glenn’s fruity “meal”! This 15% ABV recipe is more than 50 percent fruit, which is pretty much impossible when using traditional brew methods! As the Urban Artifact put it, they stuffed Astronaut Food - Blackberry & Blueberry with “as much freeze-dried fruit as humanly possible.”

Tasting Notes

The concentrated bramble flavors blast off right up front, swirling with a candy-like intensity in a black hole of eternal sour smash. It lands on a pronounced tartness, backed with shockingly gentle boozy warmth.

Sweet and tart blackberries on the front followed by fresh blueberries. Hints of leather and raisin are also noticeable! The closest you’ll get to an incredibly juicy and tart champagne! Definitely think I like this more than the blueberry Astronaut Food

Definitely would recommend this one it's different then any other beer I've tasted and it's delicious. You can taste the alcohol for sure but it's not too sour just a slight sour aftertaste.

Tiny little baby can, so if you want a beer but not a lot, this is a good pick. Very fruity, almost like a wine. More sour than sweet, but pretty nice.

Pours with an opaque dark-purple color without much foam. Smells like berries with a subtle wood-like smell. Tastes sweet, tart, jam-like, and very fruity. There is almost a smokiness to the flavor. Very smooth for 15% alcohol.
