About This Beer
For Barnacles, Reuben’s Brews teamed up with Portland’s legendary Hair of the Dog! Honoring the latter’s long-standing legacy of sensational dark brews, the duo crafted a rich English-style Barleywine.
Tasting Notes
Butterscotch, brown sugar, and sticky toffee drizzle over sumptuous banana bread flavor from fruity esters on every chewy quaff. It’s a bit like a decadent bananas foster bread pudding soaked in caramel with a bit of alcohol warmth rising on the end from the 11.75% ABV.

Thick, brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, toffee, with a bitter pine finish swirling in a woody candid sugar lollipop. Clean finish.

doesn't taste like "English " to me. 1st impression was a cross between an ipa and Belgian. but....it's the banana esthers. ugh.

Caramel, citrus pith, and toffee in the aroma. Taste follows aroma along with carmelized brown sugar and some bitterness before a slightly dry finish. 05/02/22. Late checkin.

Definite fruit flavors and slight sweetness reminiscent of brown sugar.
