A Note on This Beer
To craft a dark brew that evokes spiked apple crumble drizzled in chocolate, Oakshire Brewing turned to Bourbon-Cider barrels for their 8.6% ABV Imperial Spiced Apple Porter.
Oakshire employs their GABF award-winning barrel expertise to craft one of the most unique dessert flavors we’ve seen all dark season long. They added an Imperial Porter base to Bourbon Barrels that previously aged a Spiced Cider! The result? A boozy, 8.6% ABV apple-chocolate-pecan pie with layers of indulgent complexity:
Bourbon Barrels release brown sugar and whiskey-like aromas, while adding a layer of nutty whisky-soaked pecans.
Cider from the barrels impart baked apple notes and a touch of cinnamon, along with a juicy hint of fresh-pressed apples.
An Imperial Porter base brings indulgent dark chocolate notes, keeping the boozy body nice ‘n’ silky. Roasted espresso notes linger in the finish.
It’s chocolatey. It’s baked apple pie. It’s bourbon. All in one bottle! And we’ll bet it will be a highly coveted one, too -- Imperial Spiced Apple Porter is a super limited release, so we’re lucky we snagged a stash to share from these award-winning brewers.
