When New York’s Barrier Brewing announced they were collaborating with 2x Grammy-nominated rockers Dream Theater to create today’s Barstool Warrior Pilsner, the hearts of about a million craft fans and metalheads skipped a beat.

Then, when Barrier announced that members of the band would be pouring pints of this crushable brew at the release party, the hearts of those craft fans and metalheads exploded.

And then they took home as many cans as they could carry of the less than 200 cases in existence!

Scoring today’s light and breezy brew is like winning backstage passes to one of Dream Theater’s sold-out shows. Or Iron Maiden. Or really, pick whichever band you love most because that’s how awesome it is.

This 5% ABV quencher is brimming with aromas of lemongrass and citrus peel, giving way to a heavy backbone of Pilsner malts. Tettnang and Cascade Hops up the flavor ante, imparting hints of crisp pear and stonefruit and a floral earthiness that finishes crisp and clean.

Even if your only experience with metal is the material, make sure to snag a few extra cans of Barstool Warrior. Because I can bet that at least one of your buddies is a metalhead and will be falling over you for a taste when he finds out what you scored.
