A Note on This Beer
The best part about going out with friends isn’t telling stories or the belly-bursting laughter. The best part is when everyone orders something different and you all share, family-style.
That’s why I love going to breweries in groups. Then, even if they don’t offer flights, I still get to try all of the tastiest brews on the tap list.
But today’s collaboration: Beer #1 is beer-sharing at its most intimate.
It’s a team effort from Speciation — a brewery Thrillist named one of the “Best in America,” with 2nd Shift, who Feast Magazine calls “a Must Try Brewery.” The two Sour-stars came together to craft this Oak Barrel-Aged Sour Wild Ale using a blend of each brewery’s proprietary house culture.
The result is a one-of-a-kind, 4.20 Untappd-rated tastebud-thriller. Every funked-out sip offers you an authentic taste of each brewery. At the same time, you get to experience a combined character not found in any other beer that either craftster makes on their own.
Take your time with Beer #1. It’s a treat yo’ self brew that will likely never be made again. And because of the variability of wild cultures, it will never taste exactly the same, even if it is remade.
Breathe in aromas of a barnyard lemonade stand. Allow your tongue to unveil notes of tart-n-funky apricot swirling around sparkling citrus. Wait a moment before swallowing and notice earthy vinous complexities from the wine barrels.
And in the sharing-is-caring spirit of today’s Sour delight, please invite a buddy over to drink Beer #1 with you. It’s much too tasty not to spread the love.
