About This Beer

I love the feeling of seeking shelter from the dogged summer heat by pulling open the door of an ice-cold beer case. I always take a moment to close my eyes and bask in the frozen gusts of artificially arctic wind as it chills and entices me with imminent refreshment.

And when I open my eyes, the beer I want shining like a Holy Grail in front of me is Westbrook’s Beer to Drink When It’s Hot Outside!

Tasting Notes

This Lager is fruited with tangy, thirst-quenching Key lime puree for a supple, citrus-forward body. Bolstering each long pull from this warm-weather refresher is sweet flaked corn and a dose of Motueka Hops, leaving your lips smacking with a lightly floral, tropical finish and a satisfying aaaaaahhhhhh.

Was expecting more lime note, but it missed the mark IMO. Hit the finish strong, and I felt bogged down from it. Felt like I drank a porter, not a lager afterwards. Really full bodied.

Not hot outside today but still delicious. Aroma of corn and lime zest. Light lime tartness up front followed by corn and sweet malt. Dry hop complements beer well with light tropical notes on finish. Crisp and refreshing. Saving 2nd can for a hot day!

If I to play “Guess That Adjunct,” I’d probably pick rice over corn. This works well; the dry-hopping is very subtle, just to compliment the lime rather than to beat the flavor profile into submission.

I missed where it said it was dry-hopped, which I don’t like. that being said it was citrus forward, on the bitter side more than sour or sweet. refreshing if hops are your thing
