Do you hear the sound of something jingling, ring ting-tingling?
That’s pFriem Family Brewers making their way around the West Coast to drop off coveted bottles to all the good craft fans!
And, that merry sound isn’t sleigh bells — it’s the cling-clang of all the awards they’ve won over the years! Their halls are positively decked with Gold medals from world-class beer competitions, from the Brussels Beer Challenge to the Great American Beer Festival to the Best of Craft Beer Awards.
The Beer Connoisseur even crowns pFriem as The Best Brewery in the World!
Still, all the little craft beer-loving Johnny’s and Sue’s east of the Rockies almost never wake up to bottles of pFriem under their trees.
So, we’re acting as personal delivery elves and giving you the chance at a festive pFriem box filled with 5 different world-class beers! Have a special someone who loves craft beer? This is a great introduction to this leading edge brewery.
Here’s what you and yours have to look forward to:
Maple Syrup Barrel Aged Smoked Porter (2019) — 9.1% ABV
Mmm… Can you smell the fresh-baked pecan pie? Ooo, and is that maple-glazed bacon on top of it!?
It’s actually the sweet n’ smoky aromas wafting out of every bottle of pFriem’s Maple Syrup Barrel Aged Smoked Porter! The taste follows; this highly-rated, endlessly sippable Imperial Porter is a treat worthy of Michelin star-status for its swath of smoked candy complexity.
To make it, the brewers aged their Smoked Porter in barrels that were first used for bourbon, then for maple syrup. The result is a beer that emanates with woodfire smokiness balanced by sweet subtleties of melted chocolate, caramel, and of course, loads of sticky maple syrup.

Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout (2020) — 11% ABV
On a cold winter’s night, few things are more heartwarming (and belly-warming) than a smooth-drinking Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout. Especially if it’s pFriem’s Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout — The Beer Connoisseur named it the #4 Wood-Aged Beer in the World!
pFriem aged this award-winning Dark Beer for 12 months in highly regarded Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels, imbuing the liquid with oaky, vanilla caramel goodness.
Each sip is like a silky spoonful of cherry chocolate mousse, chased with a bite of red velvet cake. Woody char complexity and the boozy ABV help round out the tender sweetness, while keeping the experience buzzingly enticing.
Share this bottle around an open fire, and watch as the festive feelings grow!

Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Brown (2020) — 12.3% ABV
Eggnog is no match for this brand-new pFriem specialty at this year’s holiday celebration!
Aged in Willett Rye Whiskey barrels for just under a year, this Imperial Brown Ale swims with stimulating baking spice flavors. Notes of brandied cherries dance like sugarplums alongside hints of burnt toffee and nutmeg. A hint of charred wood and a flush of dark chocolate raise the complexity and balance out the malty sweetness.
Each mouthful is luscious and smooth, like the creamy flow of eggnog — without the heaviness of the egg or the nog. If it weren’t such a limited release beer, I’d suggest filling up a punch bowl with it and serving it to the family!
*Too new for ratings.
Belgian Christmas Ale (2020) — 8% ABV
This one is for the undercover Santas who strap on their jolly overalls and wrap presents for hours into the night. While you’re tying up big bows and snip-snippin’ away, you deserve a festive treat like this Belgian Christmas Ale!
The brewers add coriander to a rich, Belgian Dubbel base, and this beer dances with aromas of caramel toffee and a hint of ripe oranges. Notes of sweet raisins, candied dates, and milk chocolate combine in the silky smooth, ruby-hued pour, making it just right for warming up during a long winter night.
*One of Paste Magazine’s 30 Best Christmas/Winter Beers!
Oude Kriek (2020) — 5.6% ABV
Every holiday feast calls for a cherry pie, does it not? Well, with pFriem’s Oude Kriek, you can bring the cherry pie that beats out all the others on the table!
As the folks at The Beer Connoisseur describe it: “This is what ‘world-class tastes like.”
Stuffed with locally-sourced Mosier cherries and aged for 10 months in French Oak barrels, this Kriek brims with notes of jammy dark fruit and a touch of vinous funk. Hints of almonds and berries on the nose give way to biscuity, cherry pie-like flavors wrapped in a light and effervescent body.
Oude Kriek kicks Nana’s pie off the tabletop in terms of its wood-aged depths and baked fruit complexity. Sorry, Nana, but it looks like there’s a new cherry pie sheriff in town this holiday season!
*Rated 4.29 on Tavour; 96/100 on The Beer Connoisseur; 92/100 on BeerAdvocate
We’ve done our best to procure as many bottles as pFriem was willing to part with, but we apologize in advance for not being able to accommodate everyone. Check back for upcoming holiday treats!
