A Note on This Beer
The Sour and Wild Ale specialists at The Referend Bier Blendery work out of a warehouse just a few miles from New Jersey’s capital, but everything they make tastes like it came straight from a quaint farmhouse!
That’s not as surprising as it might sound — New Jersey might be the most densely populated state, but it’s still dotted with small farms and fragrant orchards. There’s a reason it’s called The Garden State!
And, beers from The Referend Bier taste like a garden-fresh harvest.
They craft all their base beers with locally grown grain, and they work directly with farmers to get whole, regional fruit. On top of that, every beer they produce is spontaneously fermented with natural, wild yeasts.
Take today’s Berliner Messe: Alleluiavers (2019). It’s a Pale Wheat Ale brewed with 100% wild yeast, and fermented in oak barrels with whole, Jersey-grown white and yellow peaches. Take a sip, and you’ll get notes of lemongrass and a touch of pithy citrus with a fuzzy peach skin finish.
The stone fruit flavor grows more and more apparent with each mouthful!
But, if you want to experience this true taste of New Jersey’s farmhouse heritage, you better act fast — we have just 108 bottles for all of Tavour! And, once Alleluiavers (2019) is gone, there will never be another quite like it!
