A Note on This Beer
If you were under the impression that brewers need to add yeast to craft beer, The Referend Bier Blendery is here to set the record straight.
Their entire catalog is composed of 100% spontaneously fermented brews, meaning they never added yeast or cultures to any of their wort. Instead, the brewers let nature determine the wild and funky character of each beer. This means, each of their brews — even new batches of old recipes — will be truly unique!
And, we only have 59 bottles of today’s Berliner Messe - (Unblended no. 5)! It’s a pristine example of their spontaneous craftsmanship. The brewery aged it in a single Hungarian Oak Red Wine puncheon for twenty months!
The tasty results: Funky peach and tart apricot notes are decorated in nuances of oak and complex minerality.
The fan verdict: It’s earning some of the highest Berliner Weisse ratings we’ve seen across multiple platforms!
There aren’t many 100% spontaneous breweries or blenderies out there — here’s your chance to taste a nano-batch from a top-notch spon maker.
