A Note on This Beer
It’s a Tangerine Golden Ale aged in Mezcal Barrels!
When you have an incredible sipper like this in hand, there’s no point in playing it coy.
This is the latest limited release from Pelican Brewing’s 25th anniversary celebration and — to put things bluntly — it’s mighty impressive. The brewers added ripe tangerines to their Golden Ale base, then aged it in three different kinds of mezcal barrels for three months total.
Plus, they teamed up with the Oregon Beer Award-winners at Gigantic Brewing to do it!
Pop one open, and bright, pithy citrus aromas spill out, along with a hit of mezcal smokiness. On the tongue, sweet agave mingles with juicy tangerine and vanilla toasted oak to create a unique expression of summertime flavors. It’s a sunny, cocktail-inspired ale that invokes feelings of sipping out on the patio at Pelican’s beachside taproom.
If someone should interrupt your daydreaming to ask you what you’re drinking, the fastest way to their amazement will be to tell it to them straight:
