About This Beer

I’m seriously debating moving to Fargo, North Dakota.

Sure, the summers are blazing and the winters are Siberian, but my days would be filled with bliss — drinking hazy pour after hazy pour at Drekker Brewing!

Beers from these U.S. Open Beer Championship winners are nearly impossible to find outside the Midwest, and many of their releases sell out in mere hours.

So, grabbing beer from their viking-themed taproom is often the only way to taste their world-class brews. Like Blacklight Syndicate DIPA.

Tasting Notes

This 8.3% ABV Hazy bursts with citrus notes and a piney backbone from heaps of Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca Hops. From the first whiff of fresh-squeezed oranges and pineapples, there’s no resisting the urge to take a sip.

With the addition of oats and spelt, Drekker achieves a uniquely thick mouthfeel. On the tongue, dank nuances blend with stone fruit and bursting tropical juices, leading to a refreshingly zesty finish.

This one was middle of the road for us. Can definitely taste the alcohol in it, which is a bit surprising for being an 8.3% (as opposed to a 10%+). So I think that threw me off. The smooth mouthfeel is very pleasant, though.

No other brewery on Tavour has impressed me as much as Drekker. Blacklight Syndicate is a gem! Up there with the tops in its style. Just a perfectly dank fruit bomb, that is all too drinkable. Makes you question your favorite HDIPA.

Great DIPA! Nose is citrus peel and piney resin…palate dominates with some bitterness that seems to be well balanced with stone and tropical fruits…with a good solid punch of dank!

Another day. Another HH. edition. Rich and juicy, plenty of pine. Rich orange and pineapple, smooth but plenty thick. Lingering pine on the dry finish. Another solid Drekker offering.

one of the better Drekker’s I’ve had. If you want a little more flavor and thicker beer than Ectogasm, try this one.
