About This Beer
The Anchorage crew started with a Barleywine aged in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels before transferring it to Willett and then Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for a total aging time of 18 months. Then they blended it with an Imperial Stout aged 21 months in a mix of Heaven Hill and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels.
Tasting Notes
Currents of decadent dark mocha cascade into caramel-coated dates on every velvety quaff. Swirls of whiskey-kissed creme brulee and woody spice carry underneath. It all makes for a shockingly smooth sip in spite of the bold 16% ABV.

Lots to like about this one. Hearty and warming, loads of barrel, great body without being over the top, distinct bw and stout flavours. Wish I had another

Very smooth blend of the stout and barleywine. Nice chocolate notes with slight coffee flavors.
