A Note on This Beer

A metalcore band walks into a brewery.

It sounds like the start of a joke my dad would tell, but it’s actually the story of how today’s Bones came to be. Elder Pine Brewing & Blending teamed up with metalcore band August Burns Red to craft this massively Fruited Saison!

Going for tropical flavors as hardcore and satisfying as the band’s musical fusion, Elder Pine fermented Bones with “thousands of pounds of guava and pineapple.”

Every 6.4% ABV sip gushes fresh-cut fruit flavors amid crisp and tangy Saison yeast notes. It’s a masterfully done brew that exemplifies why Elder Pine is one of USA Today’s Best New Breweries. And hey, August Burns Red isn’t exactly small potatoes either — they’ve been nominated twice for Grammy Awards!

Of course, we don’t know the next time (or if) they’ll be teaming up to make a delightfully tasty brew again. Time to grab some cans and start rocking to its bold layers of fruit.

2 stars just for the "face melting" band it pays homage too. The rest is in how delicious this beer is. Fruity with mild carbonation - you can drink this all day.

An easy drinking saison with a splash of guava flavor. The pineapple note is a bit sublte and hard to notice. Actually taste quite like Golden Road’s Guava Dia for those that had that beer before. All in all its not bad, but nothing to write home about comparing to the likes of Holy Mountain.

To be honest, I solely bought this based off of the collaboration with the band. And I am very glad that I did! I wish I had bought more. Very smooth.

Underripe orange, pith on. Avocado oil. Oyster crackers. Dead fruit fly, kamikaze, to-die-for-foam, apparently. Last sip of lemonade, on the deck, extra ice, hot day. The Palouse, twilight—the green...the gold. Recommended.
