About This Beer
Only released in fall, Barrel Aged Qualified is a special bourbon barrel-aged rendition of Taxman’s acclaimed Qualified Belgian Quad.
Tasting Notes
The barrel aging wraps the Quad’s dark plum and fig notes in caramelly whiskey and oaky vanilla notes. Let each sip linger, and the sweet complexity swirling within makes the 10% ABV feel just softly warming.

Quad. Barrel. This one disappears from glasses quickly so beware.

Not usually a quad guy, let alone a barrel aged one—but this is subtle. Nice caramel notes. Good stuff.

Vanilla, toffee, oak, brown sugar, caramel, a bit boozy.

This bourbon barrel ale is unique in that it has the quadruple base. The effect is that it doesn't leave the lingering malty flavors found in the more common bourbon barrel stout. It has the perfect momentary flavor and heavy booziness that won't leave you wishing you hadn't drank it 30 minutes later.

It’s underrated. Tastes like a Barleywine which I like. I would order and crush this again no doubt

This is killer! So much dark fruity goodness: jammy plum and fig on the tongue. Great boozy bite with oak and vanilla that warms as it goes down. Just solid all around. Well done!

Dark fruit and toffee. Sweet but not overtly. Barrel is nicely balanced. Medium body. Solid Belgian quad.

Brown sugar and caramel with just the right amount of barrel

Schmoooooth!!!!

Dark amber-brown pour with rocky tan head. Intense aromas of figs, prunes, treacle and vanilla. Taste is unique. Like cola sweetened by minimal honey and molasses. Warming on the throat and surprisingly dry finish.

A Heady Toffee concussion… not sure I’m totally qualified but I made the attempt. It’s good. Just as described and 12oz is enough to light your fuse.

nose from an open can is 100% jack
and coke. when poured into a wide mouth glass it gets more complex. taste is plum, barrel, treacle/caramel. good smooth, but slightly thick mouth feel. finish is all booze.

Never been disappointed with Taxman and this beer was no exception. Tasted the bourbon and vanilla with dried dates after taste.

Excellent! Rich, dark barrel aged flavor, with hint of bourbon. Has a great nose, without a prolonged aftertaste.

Boozy, raisins, & sticky toffee pudding on the nose. Sweet, super malty, boozy, rich, and just a little spicy. Dark, boozy finish. Just a slightly bigger qualified.

Tasted like exactly what it is: A delicious Qualified that’s been barrel aged. All the high notes with some smokey backbone this time around.

BBA stands out and the Belgian quad carmel notes didn’t get taken over by barrel aging. taxman is one of my favorite US makers for everyday Belgian style beers.
