A Note on This Beer

Boasting uncommon 12-year Four Rose Barrels and a fresh gold medal from The Festival of Barrel Aged Beers, rumors of BBA Wee Heavy spread before it was even released! As a result, Zaftig Brewing fans stalked social media and when the beer finally landed — it sold out in mere days.

The few, lucky souls who were able to grab a bottle of BBA Wee Heavy before it disappeared have been bragging about their fortunate palettes. The early reviewers have crowned this drinkable beast with an 4.36 on UT.

Aging for 12 months in a single cask of 12-year Four Roses Barrels blends the flavors of Wee Heavy for an alluring taste, masterfully masking the 10% ABV. A faint hint of roasted barley brushes the palate, followed by notes of stone fruit and rich toffee. All the malty goodness is bundled up for a subtly warm, cozy finish.

As much as we would love to be able to share today’s brew with all our members, we doubt our stock is going to last much longer than Zaftigs’ did.

*Rated 4.36 on UnTappd, 4.39 on BeerAdvocate from lucky early reviewers

Beautyful pairing of malt and barrel aging!! Top notch! up there with the version that Central Waters in Wisconsin does.
