About This Beer
Westbound and Down’s dark beers are highly coveted, and none come as regal and decadent as the king, Louie! Wrapped in George Dickel and Kelvin Cooperidge barrels, Louie encapsulates the elegance of traditional English Barleywines, with an American spin.
Each taste comes filled with charred oak notes swirling into a hot vanilla-fudge sundae, drizzled with a smorgasbord of your favorite top-shelf Bourbon. It’s a veritable court of delicious dark flavors, featuring a touch of date and fig.
Malty Thick Rich Boozy
Bourbon Barrels English Malts
Perfect beer for curling up at a cabin in front of a fire. Toasty, rich and delicious.
Thick and chewy. Caramel, toffee maybe some molasses. Boozy but not overpowering. Very nice!
Compares well to Ryeway, Westbound & Down, you’re on my radar! 🔥 Would buy again in a heartbeat!!
Really smooth with mild bourbon notes and hints of caramel and fig on finish
I can probably count the total barley wines I’ve consumed on just one hand, but this is tasty. Caramel and sticky toffee with just the right amount of high APV heat. That small 8oz can was a perfect serving as well.
Fantastic! Everything I want from a barrel aged English Barleywine. Lots of caramel notes, boozy, rich and tasty.
Toffee and booze. Awesome
