A Note on This Beer

I have to admit — I never thought about putting blackberries and cucumbers together until I discovered Drekker Brewing’s new Brain Squeeze release.

But, holy moly, is this one refreshing combo!

Grab a taste of this supremely succulent Smoothie Sour, and you’ll go ga-ga for this duo of ingredients, too. To craft today’s brew, the Drekker team squeezed their tangy Sour base full of blackberries and cucumbers!

They also added doses of lactose and vanilla for a velvety body that nicely contrasts the natural tartness, plus a smack of salt to make the berry flavor more pronounced. Finally, they christened it with an easygoing ABV and canned it up just in time for summertime sipping!

The end result is oh-so tasty. The brew boasts the Brain Squeeze series’ trademark semi-tart juiciness from the blackberries, while the cucumbers bring a surprising wave of serene refreshment on the back end that sets this edition apart. It’s like the beer version of a summer poolside cocktail!

Sadly, this batch is not as good as the previous time. This one is too heavy on the cucumber and it overpowers the blackberry. I'm so disappointed by this, because it was killer the last time I bought it.

Unbelievably refreshing. So unique! Blackberry nose is definitely accentuated by the pinch of salt. Cucumber tail is not overpowering, just refreshing, cool, and light.

Delicious! Cucumber done well can be so refreshing and this worked well. Had it while hanging out with friends by the pool on a hot day and it quenched my thirst nicely. Cucumber is the star here but the sweet blackberry taste was so nice too.

Drekker always kills it. This one is no exception. Personally thpjfn8the cucumber really overpowered the blackberry. Would of love to have a better balance between the 2 but all in highly recommend if you love cucumber.

This was my first experience with a smoothie sour and it set the bar HIGH! I was hesitant about the cucumber, but it's very subtle and adds just the right crispness to the flavor of the blackberries. The sour is not overwhelming and makes it easy to have more than 1. Brain Squeeze does NOT disappoint!
