A Note on This Beer
In a recent poll on the popular Beer Tasting Seattle Facebook group, craft fans had to name their "Top 5 Favorite Washington (non-Seattle) Breweries" … and the comments came in droves.
There were the obvious choices, like Aslan and Bale Breaker, and the more underground, like Garden Path and Old Schoolhouse. But there was one name that appeared on almost every single hophead’s list: Matchless Brewing.
Since opening a little over 3 years ago, Matchless has snatched up awards left and right, including 5 medals at the Washington Beer Awards and a spot as one of BeerAdvocate’s Top 50 New Breweries in the World!
But even before all that juicy acclaim, Seattleites were ditching the city and driving two hours south to pile into the brewery’s giant, barn-sized taproom. They’d sidle up to the bar and while away the hours sippin’ pints of flavorful, crushable brews, like today’s Brewer’s Special Saaz Czech-style Pilsner.
If you’ve been itching to get your hands on a beer from the brewery Washington locals are heralding as the “Must Try” in the state, now’s your chance.
What makes today’s Saaz so special?
Brewmaster Aaron Bolden went through hundreds of batches to perfect his Lager recipes. And today’s beer — injected with a subtle hint of minty-pineapple wrapped in a pillowy soft mouthfeel — is a tropically lush, innovative take on the Czech Pils.
Saaz delivers the crisp and clean Old-World flavors of the classic European style, with a blend of floral and fruity hops and a hint of honey sweetness. It’s so ultra-drinkable, even your most discerning craft buds won’t believe the brewers could cram so much flavor into a 5.5% ABV package.
While you’re loading up on today’s Special Saaz, grab a few extras for your buddies. When they get a taste of how potent this sessionable sipper is, they’ll swear off watery, macro brews for good!
