About This Beer
¡Champurrado! is an Imperial Barrel Aged Stout from White Elm modeled after Mexican Hot Chocolate! To craft it, the brewers aged the brew in select bourbon barrels with heaps of Guajillo chilis, cinnamon, vanilla, and raw cacao nibs. It tastes like a luxurious cup of cocoa, dusted with cinnamon, and spiked with a bit of top-shelf bourbon.
Tasting Notes
With each decadently thick taste, experience how these barrel-aging masters delicately conjure flavors of top-shelf bourbon, oak, dark cacao, and woody vanilla, balanced by a bit of zesty spice. Breathe in aromas of roasted coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, and indulge in another silky-smooth sip.

This is the best Mexican chocolate stout ever! I couldn’t stop thinking about how perfect this was even three days later. The mouthfeel, seamless blending of chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla, with a subtle chili and bourbon barrel smoothness make this a must have. 4.75 rating is my highest rating and this is 4.75!

As a Filipina that grew up eating champurrado for breakfast, this makes kid me and adult me so happy. The silky, sweet, and spicy hits of this stout is out of this world. I'm sad I didn't get the whole lot.

Little strong on the cinnamon and not so much on the chilies for my taste.. the cinnamon overshadowed the barrel aging..maybe, not for my taste buds

Smells like a chocolate cinnamon roll. Has decadent chocolate notes eith subtle vanilla. This transitions to Bourbon, cinnamon and hit of chili. The back end notes jeep this from being over poweringly sweet.

A bit too much cinnamon for me. It definitely overpowers all other flavors.

Tasted off. Something was wrong

Nice but not exceptional. Light cinnamon, light vanilla, light bourbon, light chocolate. I don't taste the peppers at all. A nice base stout under the very light additions. The second can had more chocolate and generally was richer and better, so I bumped the rating a quarter point. For 13% ABV, it's not boozy at all.

Cinnamon comes through the most, followed but the bourbon barrel. Oily, sweet, and boozy.

Almost like drinking chocolate covered coconut. Very delicious, smooth and the ABV creeps up on you

I don't normally love the bourbon barrel aged stouts but this beer was amazing. All the flavors came through as advertised and I may have a new appreciation for bourbon now.

very little heat, if any, from the pepper but the flavor complements this beer surprisingly well. more enjoyable than I expected, the flavors complement each other very well.

Tasty but I wish the peppers and cacao were dialed up and the vanilla was dialed down. just a touch too sweet for me.

was good, but was a little disappointed… was hoping for something on par with Abraxas, but it’s a little thin

Flavors out of balance. The cinnamon is crushing.

Personally I prefer a more bitter stout and this was really sweet but if you like that, then this is definitely for you. Good thick base and I can taste the notes of vanilla cinnamon and all the flavors that make up champurrado.

I had higher hopes for this one, I've never had the non-beer version of this drink, but this version is overpowered by the cinnamon in my opinion.

Slightly spicy, but wish it had a little more to it. Well-made otherwise.

Pretty darn perfect for the flavors expected. Nice smoothness from vanilla, cinnamon sparkled and rounded out by a little peppery spice.
