A Note on This Beer
B-Bomb release day at Fremont Brewing is insane.
Dark Beer fans plan their entire year around landing a bottle or two of this thick, rich, bourbon-soaked sipper. This is the beer that helped solidify Fremont’s place as one of Paste Mag’s Top 3 Breweries of the Decade, after all.
Because B-Bomb is so coveted, Fremont implemented a 4-bottle-per-person limit. But, when they released the 2017 Vintage of Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb, they limited the warm, spiced sipper to a mere 2-bottle cap at the taproom!
Those lucky enough to snag a pair rated this brew a whopping 100/100 score on BeerAdvocate, making it the #2 American Strong Ale in the World!
And today, you have the chance to fulfill your Dark Beer desires.
The brewers aged this brew in 12-year-old American Oak Bourbon barrels with additions of cold brew coffee and cinnamon bark. Then, they blended together 9-, 12-, and 24-month old Winter Ales, as each barrel imparts different layers of caramelly bourbon, woody vanilla, and smooth oak to the experience.
Sipping like sweet after-dinner decadence, hints of almond, dark chocolate, and French roast coffee swirl across the palate. Meanwhile, subtle cinnamon and espresso notes swim through the subdued bourbony 13% ABV.
This brew is so tasty, we understand if you want to enjoy it immediately. But, if you find the patience, consider cellaring it to explore a heightened woodiness and even smoother depth. Not to mention the huge bragging rights you’ll get along with it!
