A Note on This Beer
At 10.4% ABV Dust Bowl’s Confused Therapist IPA takes the same juicemaker Vermont yeast strain used in Heady Topper and pushes it to its booziest limits. The result is a pineapple-guava onslaught that drinks like a smoothie, but-- uh-oh...that can’s already gone and I’m feeling a little hazy myself…
Since this juice has got me feeling silly, listen to these raving UT reviewers have to say:
- “Absolutely kick ass triple” - @Marc
- “Light haze. Juicy, yet bitter. Smooth for an ABV over 10. Delicious!” - @AndrewF.
- “I'm not at all confused about how much I enjoyed this one!” -@JustineF.
- “Bad ass.” -@jonathans
These guys are all about the tropical floral flavor packed into each can. Freshly squeezed pineapples and mangoes resound aroma as it pours. Then jammy notes of gooseberries and Riesling grapes glide across your panting tongue. A peppery bite of spruce tips and hop resin finishes it off. And what about the booze? Don’t worry. It’s totally there -- lurking below the fruity haze.
Dust Bowl’s headbrewer Don Oliver’s got the chops to make a juicy NE-style IPA super smooth even with huge booze -- he was called out in Draft Mag as one of “Nine Beer Innovators to Watch.” Combining complete and utter juiciness with imperial-strength booziness, this hazy beer is pure innovation found only in California.
