About This Beer
Every sip is like a flashback to a time before the advent of kilns that dried malt without smoke. The Wayfinder legends crafted it with smoked malt using traditional methods like double decoction — where a portion of the mash is removed, boiled with very high heat, then added back to the main mash to create intensely malty flavors.
Tasting Notes
They say smoking kills, but this brew absolutely destroys with decadent caramel and fresh-baked bread tones all steeped in campfire flavor.

I am not a big bock lover but this is REALLY good. It makes me want to roast marshmallows. Super manly and the smoke is just right.

This is fantastic. Very balanced, malty with substantial smoke. It’s got a lovely finish that lingers for days

Texans loved smoked consumables, and I'm happy to add this to the list. Refreshing with good mouth-feel, but the smokiness is the hero. Too bad I wasn't grilling out tonight... but good thing I ordered two.

Very, very interesting beer. Can't say I've tried anything like this before. The smoke is unmistakable and grows on you.

Allow to warm slightly to gain the subtle smoky aromas. Upon first sip (straight from the fridge) it is a very nice lager. As it warms up more of the maltiness comes out, as do the rich, earthy smoke flavors. Almost crushable, but absolutely accessible. Don’t allow it to warm up too much. It becomes a bit mineral-like in flavor and the smoke aromas become more disruptive than complimenting. But that’s only if you really let it sit. I say enjoy it during the entire duration of a Mastodon album and you guarantee yourself a good time.

Definitely smokey but it reminds me of a smoked meat TOO much. The smell is like something molding as well. Not for me.

Absolutely loved it!!! Works totally get it again. This beer is the perfect example of a smoked beer done right. It's not stress to bring some smoke but not over-done in any way. I truly hope more smoked beers from this brewery come-up for sale

I’m a lover of smoked beer, and I’ve loved everything I’d had from Wayfinder before this, so I expected this to be a sure thing. Sadly, this beer is ridiculously sweet, and drinking a full can of this sticky, syrupy stuff is pretty hard to do.

This beer may go well with Texas BBQ. Not for me though. The smokiness just didn’t agree with me.
