About This Beer
To craft Cryopreservation, the California Stout savants at Bottle Logic teamed up with their friends at Aslin Beer Co. They started an ultra-creamy lactose Stout before aging it in bourbon barrels for rich accents of vanilla-oak. Vanilla beans up the velvety ice cream flavor while fresh pistachios give it that signature sweet nuttiness.
Tasting Notes
This sumptuous stunner really does taste like pistachio ice cream! Silky currents of nuts and creme anglaise lead each silky sip. Amaretto-like sweetness swirls underneath seeping into decadent dark chocolate and oak char. An indiscernible 13% ABV swims in the rich, dessert depths.

was okay, had a weird extract flavor

Solid stout back bone, super thick and chocolatey. But, the pistachio flavor didn't come through much, at all. After it warmed overnight without the bottle capped, the pistachio flavor came through, but tasted more like a flavor extract than the real thing. pistachio ice cream, this is not.

Eh, not for me. A bit too sweet on the back end for my liking. Thick and, oddly enough, creamy.

I expected more from this.
I did not get the pistachio at all.
