A Note on This Beer
I’ll admit, I’m freakin’ stoked for Fall.
And no, it’s not because I’ve been waiting all year for the appropriate time to consume pumpkin spice everything and obsess over #sweaterweather.
It’s because the changing leaves and cooler temps mean one thing: Dark Beer season is upon us!
And this year, I’m kickin’ things off a little early with an end-of-summer sipper robust enough to enjoy long into the chilly days of Fall. It’s today’s Dark Helmet German-style Schwarzbier from the Dark Beer masters at South Carolina’s Westbrook.
These guys are known across the South for their bold and approachable brews, topping every “Best Of” list from Thrillist to USA Today to Business Insider!
Leave it to them to craft an Old World-inspired brew that’s brimming with all the roasty-toasty goodness of a bold Stout wrapped in a crushable Lager profile. It even clocks in at an easy-going, all-day drinkin’ 5.5% ABV.
It’s all you need to go from late summer BBQs to that first Saturday morning tailgate of the year!
But unless you spend a lot of time hanging out in the Southeast, the only place to get your hands on this malty, rich, seasonal sipper is right here.
So, if you consider yourself as much of a Fall fanatic as me, then load up on a small stash of Dark Helmet. Then, when you check-in on Untappd, make sure to include #DarkBeerSeason so all those pumpkin-lovin’, sweater-wearin’ folks know what this season is really about.
*Dark Helmet is best enjoyed when chilled between 45-55 degrees while watching Space Balls.
