Roasty cocoa nib covered oranges with a sea salt and caramel finish. Lots going on, but it works.

Too sour and salty. Undrinkable combination. I normally like both of those things, but not with this one

Sour ale aromas focusing on tart oranges. The flavors are very much like that of a sour ale, but it has much deeper layers. Unfortunately (or fortunately if you prefer) I feel as if making this a dark sour brought out more of the bitter elements and greatly accentuated the sour elements to the point of pithiness. It’s not bad, but definitely could use a good amount of sweetness.

Its a barrel aged sour and thats exactly what you get. Im not a big fan of barrel aged beers but it was drinkable. I really wish the cara cara orange came through.

There was a spot just after it was poured and was warming that the orange and dark ale notes sung together perfectly. But then that harmony fell away before the second half of the beer. This is the lighted dark ale I can recall having yet there was the dark nutty notes playing with the sour and wild yeast. I’m apt to keep having soquel brews; even a moment of excellence is worth it.

Not my cup of tea but the flavor totally matches the description so if it sounds good to you, you’ll like it

Loved the first burst of flavor, but the finish was thin. Nice, strong sour start but a slightly disappointing end.
