A Note on This Beer
“The Nightman Cometh” is one of the most praised episodes ever of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It features a full-scale musical with karate and Danny DeVito singing as a troll.
It’s also the name of one of Drekker Brewing's most acclaimed Stouts ever. Aged for a year in Booker’s Bourbon Barrels, The Nightman Cometh Russian Imperial Stout nabbed a Gold Medal at the 2018 Best of Craft Beer Awards for its chocolatey undertones and full-bodied coffee complexity!
Today, we have something even better – TWO brand-new renditions of this award-winning brew!
The first in this song-worthy bundle is Dayman: Fighter of the Nightman, and it tastes like a boozy Almond Joy latte! To make it, the brewers conditioned their Nightman Cometh base on “mounds of delicious toasted coconut” and custom roasted coffee from their buddies over at Thunder Coffee in West Fargo.
If you think that’s awesome, just wait until you taste Champion of the Sun. For this variant, the Drekker gang took a select barrel of The Nightman Cometh and conditioned it further on macadamia nuts, roasted cacao nibs, and more of that custom roasted coffee. Every sip is a dash into nutty mocha heaven!
Now, it’s perfectly normal if the songs from the musical rendition of The Nightman Cometh are running through your head (Dayman! AaAaa!). You’ll probably be all-out singing by the time you finish off one of today’s boozy bottles — they both clock in at 10% ABV!
If you haven’t seen the episode, then I implore you to cue it up on Hulu (season 4, episode 13) and hit “play” right when you take your first sip of one of these luscious Stouts. Enjoy!
