A Note on This Beer
Today, it’s time to find out how incredibly flavorful a Session IPA can be, because we’ve finally found a ludicrously juicy 5% ABV brew, and we’ve managed to secure the only stash outside the Northeast.
It takes a truly skilled brewer to make a great Session IPA. It’s a tough style, because if you add enough malt to balance out all the hops, you end up with more alcohol. But if you go lighter on the malt, the brew comes out ‘thin-bodied.’
That’s why so many beer geeks give the style a bad rep.
But not anymore!
We give you, Double Dry-Hopped 18 Watt-IPA from New York’s Singlecut Beersmiths!
The brewery is one of the Big Apple’s most beloved with a serious 4.05 BA-rating. That’s even higher than their celebrated neighbors at KCBC and Interboro. No wonder Vinepair called Singlecut “One of the city’s best breweries.”
NYC craft fiends are all about DDH 18-Watt. It’s the 4th highest rated Session IPA on UT, and fans can’t seem to believe how much flavor it holds. Check out these comments:
“It has the DDH feel to it, and the overall experience is beyond what I thought you could do with 5% ABV.” - @spellingchampeon
“There is no Session IPA that makes you feel like you're drinking a great IIPA like this beer does.” - @TheSeeker
“Big f*ckin’ smells of citrus and stonefruit.” - @Christopher H
Open the can and you’ll find out exactly what Christopher was talking about. Huge aromas of tropical mandarin, juicy orange, and ripe nectarine erupt from the pour. You’ll find notes of pineapple, mango, and tons of citrus on the palate, and a hint of piney resin on the finish.
The days are getting longer, and that means there’s more time to drink beer. If you want something that will bring the flavor all day long but not get you too toasted too quickly, look no further. DDH 18-Watt has all the juice you could crave.
