A Note on This Beer
DDH Local 755 is undoubtedly one of the most beloved beers in Minnesota.
City Pages ranked it as one of the Top 20 Beers in the State of any style, and it’s the beer Buzzfeed called out when they named BlackStack a Must Visit Brewery in the Twin Cities!
The last version we were able to score earned an impressive 4.23 on Tavour!
And, today’s version is something special — the brewers made it with a brand new hop that you may not have tried before! Meet DDH 755: Talus.
If you’ve never heard of Talus Hops, don’t sweat it — until a few months ago, these softly floral, brightly citrusy cones were called Experimental HBC 692. Only a handful of breweries have used it so far!!
To make this limited release, the BlackStack crew adds a massive dry-hopping with Talus, on top of an already generous double dry-hopping of Amarillo, Citra, and Azacca.
The bold new hop variety adds towering aromas of pink grapefruit and hints of rose, surrounded by a wreath of resinous pine. It plays beautifully with notes of tangy tangerine from the Citra Hops, and balances the sweet, tropical mango from the Azacca Hops.
Lucky Minnesota locals have already rated this new brew an eye-catching 4.36 on UT!
When it comes to American craft, there’s always something new to try. And, let’s be honest — it’s fun to be first! That way, when your buddies say, “Hey, have you heard about the new Talus Hop?” You can reply “Of course! Want to try some?”
