A Note on This Beer
What’s in it: This giant 19.2oz can is packed with a whopping double dose of Citra, Centennial, and Motueka Hops, cranked up with a huge hit of Citra Cryo Hops! What it tastes like: Plenty of peach all mixed up with a massive melange of mandarin orange and a pop of papaya. On the finish, look for a wallop of resinous pine.
The brewers at Modern Times won’t tell me exactly how many pounds of hops they stuffed into today’s Double Dry-Hopped Booming Rollers IPA, but they describe it as a “glorious testament to excess.”
And they aren't kidding. If you like dank and fruity hops, it’s spectacularly glorious.
The hops aren’t the only thing about this brew that’s bigger — they’ve put it into 19.2oz cans! That means you can open a can, fill up your pint glass, take a few gulps, and then top that sucker off without another trip to the fridge!
That means fewer interruptions while you watch the game, and because two of these bad boys are the equivalent of more than 3 regular beers, you don’t have to haul as many cans to your next party or barbecue.
This tall, skinny ‘stovepipe can’ is like a delightfully hopped-up wizard staff that magically has more beer in it, even when you think it’s empty.
When your buddies come over to grab a taste of this hop giant, they’ll appreciate those extra ounces, too. That is, if you’re feeling generous enough to share.
This is exactly the kind of hopbomb that made Modern Times into a West Coast phenomenon. They opened their first brewery in San Diego less than 6 years ago, and now they’ve got 5 locations stretching all the way up to Portland, Oregon! And a pile of World Beer Cup medals to boot.
Just make sure you get your cans of this crushable IPA while we still have it. The original Booming Rollers sold out so fast that most folks didn’t even get a chance at it, and this super-sized version is bound to disappear even faster!
And just like @lovelybeers on Instagram said, “If you have the ability to buy one of these cans and you don’t, you’re messing up bruh!”
