A Note on This Beer
This is a momentous day for hop fanatics. Icarus Brewing just dropped a creamy, dreamy Double IPA backed by a super force of rarely seen hops!
The brewers started by crafting a silky IPA base with a ribbon of lactose for an ultra smooth mouthfeel. After the boil, they dry hopped the beer with zesty Columbus, extra-potent Lupulin Citra powder, and berry jam-blasted Experimental Hop 09326.
Then, they double dry hopped the fruit-juicy DIPA with African Queen Hops — a variety bred and grown exclusively in South Africa. Just a handful of brewers on U.S. soil have been able to use this rare hop, so far. And now, you get to taste those black currant, white peach, and sweet chili subtleties that make it so desirable!
When combined with the heightened orange tang and pithy grapefruit potency of the Lupulin Citra and Experimental Hops, African Queen transforms every sip into a sweet and frothy creamsicle milkshake with a sprinkling of lemongrass. Pops of fresh blueberries and strawberry drizzle weave in and out as the sip lingers, before fading into refreshing waves of dank evergreen on the finish.
If you’re ready to taste something new, grab yourself a couple of cans — emphasis on “a couple.” Once you’ve started slurpin’ up a glass of this creamy hopjuice, you’ll probably want to keep Milking It for as long as possible.
