About This Beer
The WS crew teamed up with their buddies at Black Ninja and 17% Drip to make this stunner. They aged a cocoa-y Stout base for 18 months in Willett 21-year Bourbon barrels, then transferred it to a single Willett Rye barrel for six more months. Finally, the team conditioned the brew on massive amounts of raw and toasted coconut, along with 1.5 lb/ bbl of Madagascar vanilla beans.
Tasting Notes
Imagine a chocolate drizzled coconut macaroon, if time spent maturing in boozy oak gave it additional, irresistible depth. Smooth, woody nuances blend beautifully with crème brûlée tones while whispers of dark fruit and roasty malt contribute to this ebony elixir’s complexity.
In less skilled hands, the ample 15.5% ABV might come in hot, but this DBA brew sips with a well balanced silkiness that makes you want to keep returning to your glass.
