A new release of the DDH Double Double IPA from New Image calls for my famous “double dry hopped dance.” 

In case you’re wondering, it’s a tasteful version of the “YMCA,” featuring motions that somewhat resemble “D,” “D,” and “H.”

Pretty beer-nerdy of me, I know, but what can I say? There’s a lot to be excited about with this one — the Colorado Sun placed New Image among the best breweries in the brew-soaked state, and their last Double Double earned a whopping 4.37 on Untappd! 

So, when I got a chance to try their Double Double Citra and El Dorado, I slurped up that POG-like hopjuice faster than my limbs fly during my DDH dance.

With each sumptuous sip, swells of nectarous mango swirl alongside lush notes of guava (from all that Citra), complemented by El Dorado’s tropical and stone fruit flavors. It tastes like a scoop of mango sorbet, topped with freshly sliced peaches and a bit of lime zest. 

If you find yourself doing a little groove of your own after a taste of today’s succulent sipper, don’t be surprised! A beer like this is supposed to have that effect on people.
