A Note on This Beer

Double Stuf Oreos make single layer Oreos seem like a waste of time.

Double cheeseburgers? Way better than regular cheeseburgers.

Double dipping? Of course I’m going back in for more sauce!

I think the brewers at New Image would agree with me that doubling up is the way to go. These Colorado craft masters brewed and double dry-hopped their new Double IPA with double the New Zealand hops.

They dubbed it Double Double: Nelson Sauvin & Motueka.

Throughout every plush sip, Nelson’s flavors of passionfruit and white grape effortlessly weave over and under the nuances of resin-soaked nectarines derived from Motueka. A hint of wild gooseberries and a touch of mandarin, right before doubling down on the smooth, piney finish.

This beer is the double-stuffed hop juice with double the flavor, double the booze, and double the awesomeness. AND it comes from one of Hop Culture’s 5 Best Breweries in beer-soaked Denver, Colorado! Talk about a double whammy.

Walking through a dense pine forest in the morning, when the dawn dew drops have settled and everything feels extra moist, and green, and you can feel a slight squelch as you pad over the mossy undergrowth... Squelch is not a particularly welcome word in most contexts--nor is moist--but at this time of day, the forest is burgeoning with life, and there's simply no more evocative language to describe it. One feels as though everything is alive and dripping with nascent potential. So, you're making your way down the path, boots softly sinking into soil with every step, and a large burlap sack of oranges on your back intended for juicing. The air is so thick with precipitation it starts seeping into the pack, steeping the citrus like a tea bag in a steamy, resinous brew. By the time it comes to pressing, all the zesty bite of orange and tangerine has been overcome with pine needle vapors, leaving only the silky smooth texture to wash it down in a flavor experience like the sound of water perfectly poured from one bucket to another. Don't be in a rush with this one. Step out into nature; find a forest to plod through, in the early morning light. Set no defined pace or purpose; take a journey without worry; stop to gaze, stop to graze; take a lesson from the tortoise.

Strong citrus aromas. I get a decent amount of lemon, orange-y citrus, and some tropical notes with a pleasant acidity. Finishes with a touch of boozy bitterness that hits the spot. Another banger from New Image.
