A Note on This Beer
Jug of Juice: Sip this nectar and prepare to be overwhelmed by ruby-red grapefruit and ripe orange with splashes of drippy mango and tropical pineapple. The finish brings a hint of pine. Heaps of Hops: Double dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Galaxy Hops!
When TheFullPint.com launched a reader’s choice poll to decide the best Hazy IPA maker in the country, Narrow Gauge Brewing Company and their string of 4+ rated juicebombs won by miles.
They even beat out Trillium, Tree House, and Weldwerks.
The owner of the website actually released a statement explaining that not only did he not rig the results, but he’d never even been to the brewery or tried any of their beers.
Since then, the tiny operation has gotten shout-outs for their hazy skills from Craft Beer and Brewing, Forbes, and Sauce Magazine. They even took home a shiny new medal from this year’s GABF!
All of which is pretty crazy for a brewery located in the basement of an Italian bar in a north St. Louis suburb. Especially considering that they don’t distribute. Like, at all.
Before today, this stuff was only ever available at Cugino’s Bar and Grill. There, you can sip Narrow Gauge’s world-class juicebombs like today’s DDH Cloud City while you bask in the glow of a giant neon Budweiser sign.
So it’s safe to say you’ve probably never tried this 4.25 UT-rated juicebomb. Unless, of course, you’re a regular at Cugino’s. In which case — lucky you.
But for the rest of the Haze-lovers out there, we’re finally freeing Narrow Gauge from the confines of the bar and making their brews available to everyone on Tavour! This is our very first beer from these guys, and with a 93/100 on Beer Advocate, you can rest assured that it’ll satisfy your juice cravings!
And since it’s been so incredibly inaccessible, it’s pretty much guaranteed that none of your buddies have had a taste from Narrow Gauge. Once they get a sip, they’re gonna want to know where you got it.
Just tell ‘em to swing by Cugino’s next time they’re in St. Louis.
