A Note on This Beer

Hide your face on Zoom and run for that ‘get it’ button quick! It’s DDH Pseudo Sue!

This epic NEIPA from Toppling Goliath is one of the most highly-rated IPAs in the craft-scene — a ferociously juicy hazebomb that all hopheads should try AT LEAST once!

The Beer Connoisseur says it’s a classic example of the double dry-hopped style, worthy of any craft fan’s “must try” list. Tasters lucky enough to snag a sip rate it an earth-shaking 100/100 on BeerAdvocate and 4.44 on Tavour!

DDH Pseudo Sue absolutely bursts with bright flavors of fresh orange and mango juice, tangy pineapple, and a cloudy, pine resin haziness. The Tyrannosaurus Rex-sized double dry-hopped Citra profile renders craft fans powerless against its deliciousness.

This is the first time in two years we've been able to get our hands on it! I highly suggest pressing that button quick — who knows when we’ll see DDH Pseudo Sue again!

DDH Pseudo Sue is BeerAdvocate’s #4 rated American Pale Ale in the World; rated 4.44 on Tavour!

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Toppling Goliath Brewing Co is certified independent by the Brewers Association

Yea that’s definitely a citra beer. Punch in the face with hops and then it finished with hops.

The Citra hits a meaty profile and is definitely one of the best hazy pale ales

Would have rated lower by mistaking it as an IPA that doesn't fit my preffered taste, but knowing its a pale ale gives it an interesting characteristic.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy, milky yellow, fine head. Aroma is grapefruit peel. Taste is more citrus, mostly grapefruit, some lemon. Zippy, zesty.

Intensely bitter hazy pale ale. Perhaps a bit unbalanced toward the bitter side, with only minimal contribution from the hazy malt backbone, leaving the mouthfeel a bit thin. Hop flavor is also bit one dimensional with intense piney notes and subtle orange citrus undercurrents. Hop flavors also feel a bit unrefined and raw, like tasting hop particulate matter in the bottom of a beer. As the beer warms and open up a bit, it definitely improves with the bitterness mellowing out and becoming less astringent. Additional citrus becomes more noticeable and the beer feels more balanced. Previous Sue iterations have been better, but this is still an above average pale ale with more flavor than many others.

Has the DDH of a double IPA but does not have the hop taste in my opinion. Still an amazing beer!

Pretty good for a pale ale, nice flavor. I just prefer IPAs. Would have loved this with more hops.

Fantastic herbal aroma on crack, grapefruit blast with a hint of herbal fennel. Juicy, but quickly replaced by moderate bitterness. Dry, lingering finish.

Outstanding DDH pale ale. I love the OG Pseudo Sue and wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. It didn’t fail to impress. VERY hoppy but smooth and milky. Drank like a hazy IPA. Highly recommended!

3.98/5 look: 4.75 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4 Poured from a 16 ounce can into a tulip glass. Look- Dull straw, sudsy white head, hazy, average head retention and lacing. Smell- Grapefruit, floral. Taste- Overwhelming grapefruit flavor upfront transitioning to a herbal and slightly spicy finish. Feel- Between thin and medium body, high bitterness, highly astringent, average carbonation. Overall- Flavor was too one dimensionally grapefruit for my palate.
