A Note on This Beer
According to Fine Cooking Magazine, “maceration” involves marinating fruit in liquid and sugar to soften it and release its juices, transforming the entire concoction into a tasty dessert!
Fortunately, New Image Brewing already did all the sticky fruit work for today’s Double Maceration - Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry.
This Colorado crew loaded up their Sour Ale base with, you guessed it, ridiculous amounts of blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries! The succulent result is lusciously smooth and jammy, starting tart and transforming quickly into soft dessert decadence.
And, unlike Fine Cooking’s recipe, this tangy-sweet treat comes with a 7.5% ABV!
Craft fan @Josh S. goes so far as to declare Double Maceration “Probably one of the best Sours I've had yet!” Time to kick back with this after-dinner sipper and see if you agree.
*New Image’s previous Maceration beer scored a wholly impressive 95/100 from the tasting experts at Craft Beer & Brewing!
